I came back to Pune on 20th early morning. Flight was rather uneventful. I had a 10 hour stopover in Singapore. I took the 2 hour city tour. The department of tourism in Singapore has put a lot of efforts to make this tour fun. We took a 20 minute boat ride in Singapore river but I was not a mood to take many photographs. The hot and humid weather was a big turn off.

I am off to a 2 week long (slightly longer actually) vacation. May not be posting on either blog in following 2 weeks.

Big Basin State Park was only 40 miles away from my hotel and by missing a couple of freeway exits we made sure that we travelled around 120 miles for the whole journey yesterday.

Today we went to Napa and Calistoga and I drove more than 200 miles in the round-trip. Napa downtown is very beautiful. We went to a couple of wineries. The aerial tram tour to Sterling winery made the trip even more enjoyable.

After the wineries we went to Old Faithful Geyser in Calistoga. The gyeser was fun to watch, we kept waiting for it to erupt so that everyone gets a photograph with the Geyser. We got a lot of photographs and I got a nearly complete video of the geyser eruption.

I went to Big Basin Redwoods State Park on Saturday. Driving on CA-17 was fun. It is the first state park in California.

The trees were tall and old and the trails were enjoyable. We took Sequoia Trail to get to a waterfall and the waterfall turned out to be VERY small one. The Slippery Rock was not slippery but it was very steep and should be slippery in rains. I realised how steep the rock was only after reaching the top.
